Being An Artiste is VERY hard

Come to think of it, being a human being is hard....lolol. I'll tell you why I say this.

Just yesterday, I went in to the studio and found a surprise guest visitor - one of my most preferred keyboard players! He was there..........listening to my song and trying to get ideas for what to play on it. First of all, let me just say WHAT AN AMAZING HONOR......i didn't even know he would be coming through.

But something wonderful happened as we sat there through MANY different takes (brain storming on what would possibly sound nice, what wouldn't, what highs and lows to use), I realised how time flew by unnoticed and the productivity that happened was absolutely amazing! All in all, it was an awesome session.

Well, I went home and began to think of how hard it is to juggle what you think is right and being humble enough to listen to other people's opinions. It seems to be the HARDEST line to straddle mainly because listening is mostly good...however, its tedious! and if you are listening to the wrong opinions, its even worse - Time consuming and Time Wasting!

It got me thinking of life in general and the voices we listen to......Once again, it summed up my whole life's argument - Human beings are LIMITED in every way but thank God for the Spirit. He does not consume or waste time....He doesn't lead us into a ditch. He guides us into the very places we NEED to go and leads us into ALL truth. His is the only voice we can trust.

Today as I sit at work, Im thankful that He's been directing this project and leading me to people with VALUABLE insights. He's ordered my every step and Im glad for what Im learning and experiencing through these times....ALL the musicians Ive gotten to work with are absolutely top notch and by God, Ive scaled through many walls BUT i need to learn to listen more - not to the voices of reason but to THE VOICE of the Spirit.

Yall have a fab day and practice listening...

The Songs I write....

So as I mentioned earlier, I'm working on a CD project. Anticipating the release of my first single "Calling" in the next few weeks.

Ive had a few questions as far as the whole album goes and thought I would "officially" share an overview of the project. So here goes:

In 2009, I went through a time of 'solitude' with the Holy Spirit. I basically was dealing with a number of things that made me very cold and somewhat internally dead toward the religious systems around me and all its demands. My only saving grace really was the presence of God. It was a tangible and memorable experience. It was in those times that I began to understand the heart of God and the plight of the average Christian.

I believe that people desire to worship God but are quickly caught up in many cares of religion. We sometimes get so entangled in our religious operations that we loose sight of Christ and His desire for relationship with us. I believe there's so much that a relationship with Christ equips us for that we miss when we are entangled in the bondage of religion.

The single "Calling" stems from Matthew 14:28-39. Its the story of Jesus walking on the water. Peter sees Him and says "Lord, if its really you, tell me to come to you, walking on water." and Jesus says to him "Come" and Peter does what none of the other disciples ever did. He steps out of the boat and walks on water!

That was so profound for me because I feel that everyday. Everyday, Christ is calling us to do the very things we see Him do (the things that seem impossible).

He's calling us to heal the sick, raise the dead, open blind eyes and even be vessels through which the human existence is transformed. Our ability to hear Him calling us out is so important but even more important is our willingness to trust Him enough and step out. It is in stepping out that we find Him more personally being more than able to save, deliver, help, hold, comfort, direct, lead and empower us and this discovery is what sets us FREE TO WORSHIP the true and living God.

Root Scriptures:
Galatians 5:1, Matthew 14:28-39

I truly cant wait to share this project with you guys and get your reviews.

Excited!
