WHO IS GOD pt2

The second thing we ought to know about God is this:

GOD IS GOOD.

God is GOOD and not just because of what He does for us. He is ETERNALLY Good. His very essence is goodness.

Through out Genesis we see that everything that God produced was GOOD. There is no evil in God. No evil plan, no evil thought. He is TOTALLY GOOD.

Ps. 119:68 declares "You are Good and do good...", 3 John 1:11 declares "...He who does good is of God...", Ps. 25:8 says "good and upright is the Lord..."

Friends, there is no bad thing in God. His thoughts toward humanity and all creation is good. He does not rejoice when evil happens. God rejoices ONLY in good. Therefore as we may have heard before, If there is anything in your life that is not good, whether a situation or a habit, KNOW that it is NOT of God. God does not delight in evil. His very nature is good. He desires to do good to all of creation.

Stay tuned for Pt. 3. I hope this is blessing you all.

WHO IS GOD? (Pt.1)

Hi Everyone:
Ive been M.I.A lately and I really do apologize. Hopefully, y'all have been doing fabulous this year by His Grace!!! So heres whats on my heart today:

In recent times, my desire has been to KNOW God just for who He is. Its almost as though my eyes have been opened to see that God is more than who I have worshipped all these years. Lately my spirit has been asking sincere questions about WHY i do all that I do as a Christian.

When I say God is good, why do I say it? Is it because of what He's been doing for me? If He stopped doing good things, would I still say He is good? These questions have crossed and stayed on my mind for the last few weeks and my desire has just been to KNOW Him for WHO He is - His character and the magnitude of His glory. So I asked the only person I know who could give me TRUE answers not just cliched "christian" answers - THE HOLY SPIRIT.

A few days back, the Spirit brought to my remembrance Romans 1: 18-21 and it wasn't until this morning that I actually opened up the scripture, read and pondered on it and received revelation. Here is what it says:

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened."

After reading this, I wondered WHAT ATTRIBUTES OF GOD ARE VISIBLE? What is it that I've missed? Two words stood out to me "His ETERNAL POWER and GODHEAD" so I wondered how could these be visible and we miss them? Then the Holy Spirit directed me back to the beginning.

In Genesis 1:2 we see that the earth was VOID and DARK. By verse 3, God creates Light and sees that the light is good.  By verse 16, God created the Sun and the Moon - One great light and another lesser light. This got me thinking so was the darkness bad? After all, we have night time and it is good and thats when it hit me.

GOD IS LIGHT and in Him, there is NO darkness. (1John1:5). He is clothed in Light. Everything about Him is LIGHT. There is NO shadow in Him at all. He is Arrayed in BRILLIANT LIGHT.

That being said, What are the attributes of Light? Heres a few for us to meditate upon:

Light is GOOD: Darkness is NOT good. Here is why I say that. Even on earth, the reason why night time is so good is because of the Moon. Light from the moon still gives the glow and beauty of Light.  Darkness is NEVER good because in Darkness, there is barrenness, lifelessness and coldness.

Light Exposes:-  Darkness conceals but Light brings every work to plain view. Light brings sight. It shows truth and exposes evil. So when we say GOD is ALL KNOWING, its because He is Light and Light naturally exposes.

Light Dominates:- Want to know why God is ALL POWERFUL?....Yup, you guessed it. HE IS LIGHT. John 1 says The light shines in the darkness and darkness comprehended it not! Isn't that just awesome. LIGHT DOMINATES DARKNESS.

Light Produces:- Think about Sunlight. There are all kinds of energy which is gotten from sunlight that helps plants grow and bring about life. Light produces life. Without light there is NO life. Light is Alive. The evidence of Light is LIFE.

Light Illuminates: It shines! It is evident and clearly different from darkness. It MANIFESTS. How do you know the Light is present? By it being on. Another evidence of light is that it shines! It is not light if it cannot be seen!

So that's it for now. GOD IS LIGHT and in Him, there is NO darkness!!!

Im so glad for the Holy Spirit and His revelation!!! I'll be sure to get back to you as the Spirit leads. =)

God Bless y'all! =)

ORDER

Hi y'all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in arrears!!! Im sorry I have been MIA for a while. Ive been so busy and have so many backed up drafts that need to be editted and published that it's ridiculous but rest assured, this one will bless you!!!

So let's dive right in:

Matthew 3:15
"It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires."
Its amazing to think that as anointed and as great as Jesus was, He still humbled himself to be baptized by John the Baptist. Though John the Baptist was older than Jesus in earthly years, Jesus was the messiah - God's anointed servant. The one through whom all of creation would be delivered. Christ was all this and more. He was the excellency of God manifested in flesh. He was the very essence of creation yet He humbled Himself to be baptized by John, a mere man.

Something like this baptism could very well have been a trivial instruction which Christ in all His power and glory could have ignored but He didn't esteem it lightly.
Even when it seemed ridiculous and there was no logical reasoning why He should be baptized by John, Christ was determined to follow the instruction regardless of logical reasoning.

What is most amazing about this whole scenario is the reason for which Christ does what He does. This verse gives away that reason perfectly: "...we must carry out all that God requires." Jesus humbled Himself in order that He might please the Father and fulfill the mission for which He came in the ORDER that the Father desired.

Two things to be learnt here are:
1) The Requirement
2) The Order

While we must all know what God requires from us, we must also know and be willing to follow the ORDER in which God desires things to be done. He is an orderly God and will not change His standards for any man. Therefore, adopting the mind of Christ is very crucial for every christian. As Christians, we must all begin to do the things that ought to be done whether they seem trivial or not. Never take the instructions of God for granted on any level. Remember, not one of His Word is sent out without a purpose. So make like Nike and JUST DO IT! :o)
